Kidnap!

Danny slid down the wall.
"I think we're being kidnapped." Jessica squeaked. Danny and I looked at each
other.
"Well you don't say Jessica. And there was me thinking we were going for a
lovely drive through the country lanes! Silly me!" I rolled my eyes. Not very
quick on the uptake, is Jessica. The van suddenly swerved round a sharp corner.
We were thrown to one side of the van. Just as we were picking ourselves up,
the van swerved in the opposite direction and we were all thrown to the other
side.
"Oh I've had ENOUGH of this!" Danny shouted, standing up by the doors with
his hands on his hips. The van suddenly went from 30 mph to 0. Danny was launched
backwards. The hatch opened once again. The lady's face appeared once again.
"Look, I'm gonna ask you nicely one more time. Could you keep the noise down
please? Now I don't wanna have to ask you again, O.K? YOU don't want me to
have to ask you again. Understood?" Jessica and I nodded obediently. She closed
the hatch. We stuck our tongues out at it.
"Come see this you two!" whispered Danny. We crawled across to the doors where
he was kneeling. The door had opened a tiny crack where Danny had crashed
into it earlier. He had his eye pressed right up to it.
"I can see lots of green… And lots of cars… Well, I'm assuming they're cars…
I think we're on a motorway…" He kept on going like this, telling us everything
he saw. After about twenty minutes of this, he suddenly sat up. "We're turning
off! Hang on; I might be able to read the sign… M - E! The first two letters
are M - E! Where do we know that is about twenty-five minutes from school
that starts with M - E?"
I thought he was joking. Then I realised that he wasn't. He really couldn't
think of anywhere about twenty-five minutes from school that started with
M - E. Jessica and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes.
"Meadowhall!" we chorused. "Wow, what a place to be taken to after being kidnapped!"
I grinned. We were being taken to Meadowhall Shopping Centre! Wow! At least,
so I thought…
"Look there's that big bridge!" said Danny. I joined him at the crack in the
door. We turned left at the fork, just like we should. But then instead of
carrying straight on, we slowed down.
"Hey, what's going on? Are we there already?" asked Jessica, pushing me out
of the way to look.
