Talks for children, teenagers or adults
Note: This event can be delived as a PowerPoint lecture, to accommodate an unlimited number, or as an informal chat, if the group is 40 people or less.Approx 1 hr plus questions.
I show many different examples of my work, talk about how my illustrations are created and explain the production of a picture book. I show how my characters are created and evolve, and discuss the relationship between author and illustrator. I explain the roles of the publisher's Editor and Designer, and look at some of the hilarious effects of foreign markets, especially the USA, on the published pictures.
I can vary the delivery of this to suit anyone from 7yrs to grown up!
Note: There's lots of interesting stuff to learn about, but don't be fooled - I like to keep my talks as lighthearted and irreverant as my artwork!
Please supply :
- For the PowerPoint lecture I will just bring a CD, so you need to supply the laptop etc (and someone to get it up and running please!). Good blackout is helpful, as the talk is very visual. For the informal chat I just need a couple of large tables, a flipchart and black felt pen.
